Ian Smart
Portfolio Manager
Ian is responsible for corporate bond investments in the long only and long/short funds under the Leman Focus umbrella. Prior to joining Helvetica, Ian was the Head of UK Fixed Income at Lazard Asset Management in London where he worked for 13 years. At Lazard, Ian was responsible for all UK fixed income products as well as developing a particular focus on the European credit markets. He achieved the maximum fund manager ratings from Morningstar and Citywire, and was rated number 16 in Citywire's Britain's Top 100 Fund Managers survey in 2008. Ian began his career in 1986 as a bond salesman at James Capel before moving into asset management to manage global fixed income and currency portfolios. Ian has an honours degree in Economics and Geography from University College Cardiff.
